Following last January’s edition of Kaws’ Giant Holiday Companion, which saw the sculpture floating along the Seok chon Lake in Seoul, here comes the even bigger seated 36meters long edition, which can be found in the middle of Taipei.

While Kaws Companion piece’s meaning remain shrouded in unclarity, we could imagine it as a restyle of popular pop culture figure Mickey Mouse but revisited with a skull and crossbones for the head. It also hints to the design of a smileys with its famous X’s eyes. The artist signature is apparent with the XX symbol, and you can find it in most of his artworks.

This massive outdoor Kaw Companion sculpture is located at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and has benefitted from the support of AllRightsReserved and JJ Lin’s JFJ Production.
